Perennial with stout woody rootstock covered with old leaf bases. Stems 15-30 cm, hirsute and viscid. Basal leaves ± obovate, soon withering. Cauline leaves broadly ovate to rotund, less than 2 x longer than broad, cordate at the base. Inflorescence dichasial, 3-11-flowered. Calyx tubular, 20-25mm, hirsute and viscid. Petals white, the limb 4-partite. Anthophore 6-8 mm. Capsule 10-13 mm, included in the calyx. Fl. 5-7. Rocks, roadsides, 950-2100 m.
Endemic. Euxine element.
