Annual, rarely biennial. Stems erect, up to 1 m, hirsute-viscid above. Leaves obovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute, papillose and setose. Inflorescence a compound dichasium. Flowers hermaphrodite. Calyx 15-18 mm, glandular pubescent, 10-nerved, slightly inflated in fruit. Petals white or pink, the limb bipartite for c. ½ of its length. Styles 3. Anthophore 2,5-3 mm. Capsule ovoid oblong, opening by 6 teeth, included in the calyx. Fl. 6-7. Fields, 600-1500 m.
