Rigid annual. Stems erect, up to 50 cm, puberulent below, glabrous and often viscid above. Basal leaves forming a rosette, spathulate, petiolate, often puberulent; cauline leaves linear to linear-lanceolate. Inflorescence richly dichasially branched. Calyx 11-15 mm, nerves conspicuous, the teeth broadly triangular with dense, anastomosing venation, glabrous. Petals pink, conspicuously purple veined outside; coronal scales dentate-incised. Filaments glabrous. Anthophore 6-10 mm. Capsule ovoid-globose, 7-8 mm. Seeds tuberculate. Fl. 5-6. Screes and rock ledges, 100-1000 m.
