Differs from S. acre in its more robust habit and in its conical to oblong-linear, subacute leaves which become coriaceous and black-tipped. Sepals c. 4 mm, usually ± tapering towards the apex. Fl. 6-7. Rocky places on limestone, etc., s.I.-1300 m.
