Glabrous, glaucous, decumbent-ascending perennial. Stems several, simple, arising from a woody stock. Cauline leaves suborbicular, ovate, rhombic, obovate or obtrullate, 10-35 x 10-35 mm, apex obtuse and mucronate or acutely acuminate, minutely denticulate, cuneate or rounded, often purple-tinged. Ray-leaves suborbicular. Raylet-leaves ovate to reniform, 5-10 x 5-17 mm, rounded to cordate. Rays 3-5, once or twicedichotomous; axillary rays 0-1. Glands 2-homed, horns clavate. Cyathiallobes prominent, broadly ovate, purplish.· Fruit ovoid-conical, trigonous, 5-6 mm diam. Seeds subcylindrical, 3 mm, rugulose, grey or brown; caruncle terminal, petasiform, 1.5 mm. Fl. 3-8. Rocky slopes , mountain steppe, phrygana, lake and stream sides, 600-1900 m.
