Similar to E. amygdalaides, but suffruticose, shorter ; cauline leaves somewhat glaucous, minutely and evenly crisply puberulous, those of first year's growth not exceeding 3.5 x 1 cm, but with petiole to 1 cm; fruit 4-5 mm diam., sparingly to evenly pubescent, Fl. 6-8. Rocky calcareous often N-facing slopes, sometimes with E. kotschyana, 2020-2300 m.
