Glabrous annual to 15 cm. Stems usually simple. Cauline leaves ovate to oblong, 5-15 x 2-5 mm, obtuse, rounded at base, entire. Ray-leaves ovate-lanceolate, somewhat larger than cauline, Raylet-leaves ovate-lanceolate to ovate-deltoid, equalling cauline in size. Rays 2-3, 1-3 times dichotomous; axillary rays 0-1. Fruit trilobate, 3 mm diam., smooth. Seeds ovoid-quadrangular, 2.5 mm, minutely tuberculate-rugulose, with 3-4 transverse grooves per facet, dark greyish-brown; caruncle patelliform. Fl. 3-5. Disturbed steppe on marly soil, limestone hills in Quercus scrub, 500-1000 m.
