Dwarf, scapose, perennial herb, with a branched, woody caudex. Leaves 1-1.5 cm; leaflets 3-4 mm, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, bifurcate-sericeous, 4-6-paired; stipules c. 5 mm, ovate-lanceolate, adnate to the petioles. Peduncles c. 1 cm. Inflorescence 1.5-2.5 cm diam., a dense, globose to ovoid, 15-25-flowered spike. Bracts 5-6 mm, linear-lanceolate. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 10-12 mm, tubular, long black and white simple-villous, with a few black adpressed bifurcate hairs; teeth 3-6 mm, linear. Corolla lilac or purple with white centres; standard 12-15 mm, lamina ovate-oblong. Ovary white-pilose. Legume unknown. Fl. 6-8. Screes, etc., 2350-3400 m.
