Ascending annual, up to 30 cm; stems spreading-hairy. Leaves 4-7 cm; leaflets 6-12 mm, oblong to obovate, obtuse, glabrous above, white ± simple-pilose below, 6-10-paired; stipules 4-6 mm, triangular-ovate, white-hairy. Flowers in globose, 10-15-flowered spikes. Bracts c. 3 mm, lanceolate, white-hairy. Calyx 4-5 mm, campanulate, white simple-pilose; teeth 2 mm. Corolla purplish; standard 8-9 mm. Legumes 9-11 x4-6 mm, ovoid, laterally compressed, coarsely tuberculate with spreading white hairs; beak hooked. Fl. 4-5. Calcareous ground, 80-800 m.
