Prostrate or ascending perennial with a branched woody caudex, stems 4-10 cm. Leaves 2-4 cm; leaflets 6-10 mm, elliptic, obtuse or acute, simple spreading or adpressed-hairy, 2-8-paired; stipules 5-12 mm, triangular-lanceolate, united at the base. Peduncles 1-3 cm. Inflorescence a dense, ovate, 15-20-flowered spike. Bracts 8-11 mm, linear to linear-lanceolate. Calyx 9-18 mm, campanulate with long white spreading simple hairs; teeth 5-10 mm, setaceous. Corolla cream or purple; standard 10-18 x 4 mm, ligulate, glabrous. Young legume ellipsoid, white-hairy, mucronate. Fl. 5-8. Pinus forests, shaley hillsides etc., 1100-2670 m.
