Caulescent perennial, up to c. 1 m. Leaves 15-35 cm; leaflets 15-30 mm, narrowly ovate to narrowly elliptic, acute or obtuse, both surfaces glabrous, 13-20-paired; stipules 10-40 mm, lanceolate, sparsely long-simple-pilose. Inflorescence sessile, 4,5-9 x 4-5 cm, ovate to cylindrical, dense, with 30-100 sessile flowers. Bracts 8-20 mm, linear, long-pilose. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 16-23 mm, densely long-pilose; teeth 4-9 mm, linear. Corolla yellow; standard 15-25 mm. Legume 7-8 x 4 mm, ovoid, compressed, sparsely adpressed- or spreading-pilose, included in calyx; beak c. 2 mm, curved. FI. 5-8. Meadows, fallow fields, 400-2500 m.
