Dwarf caespitose shrub. Leaves 1,5-2,5 cm; rachis spiny; leaflets 7-9 mm, oblong, spine-tipped, both surfaces white simple adpressed-pilose, 3-4-paired; stipules 5-7 mm, oblong acuminate, joined, ciliate. Peduncles scapiform, pilose. Flowers in ovoid, 5-10-flowered spikes. Bracts c. 7 mm, oblong, acute, ciliate, lower surface glabrous. Calyx 12-15 mm, tubular at first, becoming inflated, densely white simple-pilose; teeth c. 7 mm. Corolla purple; standard 14-16 mm. Legumes unknown. Fl. 7. Mountains, c.2200 m.
