Dwarf, scapose, perennial herb with a woody base. Leaves 1-6 cm; leaflets 5-8 mm, narrowly or linear elliptic, bifurcate sericeous, 7-10-paired; stipules c. 10 mm, linear-lanceolate, tinged with purple, adnate to the petioles. Inflorescence sessile or with a peduncle up to c. 5 cm, 1.5-3 x 1-1.5 cm, a dense oblong or shortly cylindrical, 20-40-flowered spike. Bracts 5-8 mm, linear-lanceolate. Bracteoles absent. Calyx c. 8 mm, tubular, densely long white simple-pilose; teeth c. 2 mm, linear. Corolla dusky crimson; standard 10-12 mm, lamina linear-lanceolate. Legume unknown. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, roadsides, 1200-1830 m.
