Dwarf cushion-forming shrub, 6-20 cm. Leaf rachis spiny, 1-6 cm, straight or curved. Leaflets 3-9 mm, elliptic, ±spreading densely white-simple-pilose, 4-6-paired. Stipules 8-14 mm, triangular-lanceolate, pilose. Flowers sessile, 4-5 per leaf axil. Inflorescence globose, 2,5-4 cm diam., 6-30-flowered. Bracts 9-13 mm, oblong to lanceolate, navicular. Bracteoles 12-15 mm, linear, densely pilose, resembling the calyx lobes. Calyx 13-15 mm, densely white-pilose; lobes divided to the base. Flowers pink; standard 22-25 mm. Style hairy. Fl. 5-7. Steppe, fields, hills, 900-2200 m.
