Erect or ascending shrub, 20-100 cm, branches erect or ascending, or sometimes procumbent, patent-hairy. Leaflets 5-20 x4-10 mm, obovate, oblanceolate or elliptic, usually sparsely adpressed-hairy above, uniformly sericeous to hirsute below. Flowers in leafy racemes. Calyx patent-hairy or villous. Corolla yellow; standard 18-30 mm, sometimes with brown spots at the base, usually sparsely hairy. Legume 25-40 mm, narrowly oblong, hirsute, sometimes sparsely so. Fl. 4-6. Hillsides, and open woodland, roadsides, 100-1600 m.
