Ssp hermonis: Kızıl burçak; Ssp roseus: Gül mürdümüğü

Erect, glabrous perennial. Stems slender, terete and striate, 40-60 cm. Leaves aristate; leaflets 1-paired, broadly obovate to elliptic-orbicular, 15-45 x 10-30 mm, flat, pinnate- and reticulate-veined; stipules lanceolate, semi-sagittate, c. as broad as stem. Peduncles slender, 1-2 x as long as leaf, 1-4-flowered. Calyx 5-7 mm; teeth unequal, triangular to lanceolate, shorter than tube. Corolla carmine-pink, 12-19 mm. Legumes broadly linear-oblanceolate, ± incurved, 35-45 x 6-8 mm, glabrous. Seeds 5-10, smooth, hilum ½ of perimeter. FI. 5-7. Forests , scrub , 30-1800 m.

Crimea, Caucasia, N. & N.W. Iran. Hyrcano-Euxine element.

subsp. hermonis 

Differs from subsp. roseus in its subrhomboid and hypoamphistomatic leaflets, 1-2-flowered peduncule, shorter leaves and spathulate style. Fl. 6. 1300-1580 m.
