Annual or biennial, adpressed-canescent, eglandular. Stems decumbent or ascending, 10-30 cm. Basal leaves ovate, 3-lobed or even trisect, segments ± lobulate, crenate-dentate. Lower cauline leaves often more deeply divided. Sepals 5-6 mm, all 3-nerved, awn 0.3 mm, Petals mauve, c. 2 x sepals. Beak of fruit 8-9,5 cm. FI. 6-7. Rocky Artemisia steppe, limey soil by roadsides, 1250-1500 m.
