Distinguished from A. orientalis by its usually less densely woolly indumentum, more elongate bracts, corolla not resupinate with limb violet-blue throughout, and stamens shortly exserted beyond annulate corolla tube. Fl. 5-6. Alnus scrub, moist meadows, to 500 m.
