Stems 30-60 cm, erect from a woody stock, stiffly branched, gland-dotted and eglandular-villous, Cauline leaves cordate-reniform, 25-45 x 25-45 mm, crenate, softly adpressed-pilose to subsericeous above, densely tomentose with stellate and simple eglandular hairs beneath. Verticillasters dense, 9-many-flowered, shorter than shortly petiolate floral leaves. Bracteoles linearfiliform, emucronate, shorter to as long as calyx tube, 0.2-0.4 mm broad. Calyx 6-7 mm, strongly ribbed, shortly eglandular-pubescent, shortly flared into a patent limb 4-7 mm diam.; teeth 10, ± unequal, longer ones triangular and patent, 1-1.6 mm incl. 0-0.5 mm mucro. Corolla pink or reddish-purple, 12-16 mm, upper lip cristate. Fl. 6-7. Rocky places , screes, mountain steppe, ruins, banks, 950-2000 m.
Endemic. lr.-Tur. element. Allied to B. latibracteolata.
