Shrub to 130 cm, eglandular. Leaves greenish with ± dense indumentum of subadpressed undivided hairs, with or without few stellate hairs above, densely stellate-tomentose beneath, lower leaves lanceolate to oblong or ovate, 3-7x 1.5-4 cm, cordate or subcordate at base, crenulate to crenate-serrate, petiole to 5 cm. Floral leaves ovate-triangular to lanceolate, shortly petiolate, to 2 x as long as verticillasters. Verticillasters 1-3, distant, 12-20-flowered. Bracteoles numerous, linear-subulate to linear-lanceolate, 8-20 x 1-3 mm, ± stellate-hairy, densely hispid. Calyx sessile, 15-20 mm, stellate-tomentose, hispid, teeth subulate, 1-6 mm. Corolla yellow, 30-40 mm. Nutlets glabrous. Fl. 5-6. Limestone slopes and rocks, macchie, Quercus scrub, 160-1050 m.
