Shrub to 150 cm, eglandular. Leaves densely ± adpressed whitish or mostly yellowish stellate-tomentose, especially beneath, longer undivided hairs absent, lower cauline leaves oblong to oblong-ovate, obtuse, cuneate at base, denticulate or entire, 2-6.5 x 1-3.5 cm, petioles to 3 cm. Floral leaves shortly petiolate, oblong, as long as or to 2 x as long as verticillasters. Verticillasters 1-2, 6-12-flowered. Bracteoles lanceolate, densely spreading white-lanate, 5-8 x 1.5-2 mm. Calyx 10-14 mm, densely white-lanate and stellate-hairy, teeth broadly triangular, scarcely apparent, with mucro 0.5 mm, Corolla yellow, 20-30 mm. Nutlets glabrous. Fl. 5-8. Macchie, Quercus & Cedrus scrub, rocky calcareous woods, s.l.-1500 m.
