Perennial, 25-100 cm, ± branched, adpressed white-silky or subadpressed greyish tomentose, often glabrescent, eglandular. Middle cauline leaves oblong to elliptic or linear-oblong, with yellowish mucro 0.5-1 mm, shortly petiolate or sessile, serrulate or serrate, 2-7 x 0.6-2.5 cm. Verticillasters 6-12, 6-flowered, crowded, forming a dense spike 3-5 cm or an inflorescence to 15 cm . Middle bracts orbicular-cordate and reniform, 0.9-1.2 x 0.8-1.5 cm, with acumen 3-10 mm. Calyx pubescent, 8.5-10 mm, teeth 3.5-4.5 mm, tube sometimes with interspersed glands. Corolla yellow, 10-12 mm, hairy and with brown striae inside. Fl. 5-7.
