Mesophytic perennial. Flowering stems erect, 50-120 cm, simple or with few branches, shortly adpressed greyish tomentose, eglandular, glabrescent below. Cauline leaves ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 2.5-14 x 0.8-6 cm, serrate-dentate, apex acute, cordate at base, petiole 1-5 cm; indumentum shortly adpressed white-tomentose beneath, glabrescent above. Floral leaves subsessile to sessile, ovate-lanceolate to ovate, 1-6 x 0.8-1.5 cm, weakly serrate to subentire, longer than verticillasters. Verticillasters 12-16-flowered, few, lower remote, 1.5-4 cm apart, upper ± approximate. Bracteoles lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 5.5-8.5 mm, herbaceous, tip spinescent. Pedicels 1-2 mm. Calyx sub-bilabiate, subcampanulate, 8-10 mm, white-tomentose; teeth subequal, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, c. 1/2 x tube, usually eglandular, occasionally with few glandular hairs, mucro 0.5-0.8 mm. Corolla pink, 13-14 mm, tube subexserted. Nutlets lenticular, 2 x 1.4 mm, trigonous. Fl. 6-9. Streamsides and river banks, wet rocky slopes, macchie, 1000-2200 m.
