Suffrutescent perennial. Flowering stems to 65 cm; erect, branched only at base, retrorsely pilose to pubescent with eglandular hairs and sessile glands. Cauline leaves ovate. 2-2,8 x 1,2-1,5 cm, crenate to serrate-dentate, acute. truncate to cuneale at base, pubescent-pilose, petioles 3-10 mm. Floral leaves subsessile to sessile, ovate. 2-2,5 x 1-1,5 cm, serrate-dentate. Verticillasters remote, 7-7,5 cm distant, 6-10-flowered. Bracteoles linear-lanceolate, 4-6 mm, setaceous to herbaceous, hairy. Pediccls 1-2 mm. Calyx ±regular, campanulate, 7-9,5 mm, with glandular hairs and subsessile glands; teeth lanceolate, 1/2-3/4 x tube, tips not rigidly spinescent. Corolla 14-16 mm, yellow, streaked and speckled red on tube and lips. Nutlets oblong. Fl. 8. Mountain slopes, in Quercus scrub. c. 2000m.
