Dwarf, suffruticose, adpressed-tomentose perennial. Stems 3-10 cm. Leaves elliptic, to 17 x 6 mm, flat, acute, entire or subentire, concolorous, shortly petiolate, on fertile and shorter sterile shoots. Flowers solitary and axillary in upper leaves, forming a short, leafy, 2-6-flowered inflorescence; floral leaves overtopping calyces. Pedicels c. 3 mm. Calyx campanulate, 5-7 mm, tomentose and glandular, divided to half, teeth triangular, acute. Corolla 2-3 x calyx, lilac, rarely blue or pink; stamens longer than lip. 2n 30. Fl. 6. On serpentine rocks, c. 1600 m.
Endemic. E. Medit. element. Related to T. aroanum Orph, ex Boiss. From S. Greece, from which it differs in its acute leaves, longer bracts, and calyx densely glandular-pubescent, lacking eglandular hairs.
