Low tortuous shrub, branches 5-30 cm, young ones crisply white pubescent. Leaves c. 5 mm, elliptic, crenate-dentate, acute, white tomentose beneath. Racemes ± lax below, dense above. Verticillasters 2flowered. Calyx shortly pedicellate, 4.5-6 mm, adpressed-canescent and often pilose, divided to 1/3 into narrowly triangular teeth. Corolla pink, 2 x calyx. Fl. 5-7.
S. Aegean. E. Medit. element. Allied to T. marum L. from W. Mediterranean.
