Herbaceous perennial. Stems 30-100 cm, erect, crispate-pubescent, widely branched in upper half, young twigs and buds often purplish. Leaves shortly petiolate, ternately 2-3-pinnatipartite, lobes linear, concolorous, canescent, margins revolute. Inflorescence pyramidately paniculate. Floral leaves simple or tripartite, often c. half as long as pedicels. Pedicels 1-flowered, much longer than calyx. Calyx 5-7 mm, campanulate, divided to middle or slightly below, teeth lanceolate to subulate. Corolla violet-blue, only slightly longer than calyx. Stamens half as long as lip. Fl. 5-8. Fallow fields, cornfields and waste ground, 650-1950 m.
