Dwarf rigid shrub 20-50 cm, branches ascending to erect, with axillary leaf clusters . Leaves of long shoots 4-10 mm, sessile, linear, acute, subglabrous, ciliate at base; lateral veins not visible; oil dots numerous, purplish. Inflorescence oblong-conical; bracts c. 6 x 2 mm, imbricate, ovate to lanceolate, greenish, with numerous purplish oil dots, ciliate. Bracteoles c. 5 mm, similar to leaves. Calyx 4-5 mm, upper lip shorter than lower, teeth ciliate. Corolla purplish-pink, to 10 mm, upper lip bifid. Fl.5-7. Coastal phrygana, open macchie, s.l.-1400 m.
