Shrublet forming dense tussocks. Stems 3-15 cm, erect, hairy all round with short deflexed hairs. Leaves of long shoots c. 7-10 x 0.8-1.5 mm, sessile, lanceolate-subulate, with flat margins, puberulent, ciliate in lower 1/3; oil dots mostly sparse, yellowish. Leaves of axillary fascicles 3-4 x 0.3-0.5 mm, with clearly revolute margins, puberulent. Inflorescence capitate, c. 1.5 x 1 cm. Bracts c. 7.5-10 x 3-4 mm, ovate, attenuate, puberulent, lower 1/2 ciliate, with 4-5 pairs of strong lateral veins beneath; oil dots numerous, yellowish. Bracteoles c. 2 mm, ciliate. Calyx 3.5-5 mm, lips almost equally long, longer than tube; upper teeth 0.5-0.8 mm, triangular, irregularly ciliate. Corolla lilac to purple, 5-6.5 mm. Fl. 4-8. Open rocky and gravelly ground, 70-2000 m.
