Dwarf shrub forming large cushions. Flowering stems slender, ascending to erect, from woody basal branches, 3-10 cm, with short reflexed hairs all round. Leaves 6-10 x 1-2.5 mm, narrowly spathulate, pale greyish green, glabrous or scabrid with 1-celled projections; oil dots numerous, ± colourless; midrib pale beneath, lateral veins not prominent. Leaves of axillary fascicles present in lower part, 3.5-4 x 0.6-0.8 mm, spathulate. Leaf margin flat, with few basal cilia. Inflorescence a few-flowered lax head. Bracts leaf-like, 4.5-6.5 x 1.2-2 mm, lanceolate-elliptic, apex rounded, base broad, with 2 pairs of conspicuous lateral veins joining apically to marginal vein. Bracteoles 1.2-3 mm, subulate, longer than pedicels. Calyx campanulate, 3-4 mm, hirsute at least ventrally; lips equal or upper lip somewhat shorter, upper teeth 0.6-0.8 mm, triangular, ± aristulate, scabrid with l-celled marginal projections. Corolla white, 4-6 mm. Fl. 6-7. Rocky slopes, 680-1600 m.
