Bulb to 2 cm diam Stem 3-15 cm, usually papillose around lowest leaves; Leaves 4-7, glaucous, alternate; lowest 3-7.5 x 0.6-1.8 cm, lanceolate or oblanceolate, acute or obtuse, papillose on margins, upper leaves usually twisted. Flowers 1-3; perianth narrowly campanulate or conical, yellow fading to orange; outer segments 13-20 x 4-7 mm, ovate or lanceolate, obtuse; inner 8-9 mm broad, obtuse. Nectaries 2-4 x 1 mm, lanceolate, dark, at base of perianth. Filaments 5-9 mm, papillose. Style 6-10 mm, papillose, undivided or 3-fid at apex; branches 1 mm. Capsule not winged.
