Bulb c. 4-8 cm diam. Stem 50-130 cm, 1-5-flowered. Leaves spirally arranged; median leaves broadly lanceolateto linear-lanceolate, 50-140 x 10-20 mm, shortly setulose on margins and veins beneath. Flowers infundibular- recoiled, usually pale yellow or sulphur, often with scattered chocolate spots. Perianth segments oblanceolate to linear-oblanceolate, 63-90 x 10-22 mm, papillose at apex, loosely recoiled from about the middle but hardly completing a circle, tips not touching the exposed purplish-based.'tube'. Filaments free or sometimes monadelphous. Anthers 9-13 mm; pollen orange or rarely yellow. Style 23-37 mm. Scent strong and sweet. Fl. 6-7.
