Tall perennial, often over 1 m. Stems erect with an indumentum of small stellate hairs. Leaves 3-5-lobed almost to the base, with oblong to lanceolate, deeply toothed segments, stellate-hairy above and beneath. Peduncles 1-2-flowered. Sepals 5-6 mm, abruptly narrowed above. Petals 11-16 mm, pink. Mericarps glabrous, rugose. Fl. 6-8. Marshy ground, banks, etc., s.l.-1250 m.
