Stem stout, glabrous below leaves, pubescent above. Leaves broadly ovateelliptic, sessile, to 4.5 x 8 cm. Upper part of stem with 1-3 bract-like leaves. Raceme long, lax, 25-45-flowered, bracts minute. Sepals and petals green; labellum oblong, 10-15 mm, yellowish-green, directed forwards near base, then turning abruptly downwards, divided nearly to middle into 2 oblong-linear obtuse lobes. Ovary globular, straight, on long twisted pedicel. Fl. 5-6 . Springs or flushes, damp forests, subalpine meadows, on base-rich soils, 50-1700 m.
