Perennial . Stems 20-50 cm, erect, sturdy, unbranched, with scattered long eglandular hairs. Leaves oblong to oblong-lanceolate, simply pinnatisect, serrate-crenate; basal long-petiolate, cauline few, alternate, sessile. or absent. Inflorescence a dense, villous to lanate spike, elongating to c. 20 cm in fruit. Bracts much longer than flowers, to 4 cm, pinnatifid-pectinate, linear, reflexed or spreading. Pedicels 0,5-1,5 mm. Calyx urceolate, lanate, ± inflated; tube 6-10 mm; lobes linear, unequal, 4-7 mm. Corolla dusky mauvish-pink, 15-17 mm; tube 6-10 mm; upper lip straight, rounded at apex. Anthers mucronate, barbate. Capsule oblong, obliquely acuminate, 10-13 x 5 mm. glabrous. Fl. 5-7. In Pinus sylvestris forest, streamsides, 1700-2400 m.
