Ssp macrophylla: Stem glabrous, to 1m. Lower leaves biternate,leaflets elliptic to broadly obovate, acutely cuneate at base, dark green and glabrous above, glaucescent and villous beneath. Flowers 9-11 cm diam. Petals creamy yellow, broadly obovate, concave. Carpels 2-4, green, glabrous; stigmas purple. Folliclesc. 4 cm. Fl. 6. Alpine meadows, granite slopes, 2000-2400 m.
