Slender tufted perennial, with sterile basal shoots. Stems several, 30-80 cm. Median leaves linear, usually 7-11 cm x 7-10 mm, glabrous. Raceme elongate, dense, many-flowered, axis glandular-puberulent. Bracts lanceolate, shortly cuspidate, reaching apex of calyx to much longer than lower flowers, shortly glandular-puberulent and sometimes ciliolate. Calyx lobes usually 6-10 mm, oblong-lanceolate, acute, tapering into a 0,5-1 mm cusp, without a conspicuous whitish margin of hairs. Corolla usually 10-15 mm; tube pale yellowish-brown, ventricose; lower lobes whitish, usually only 4-7 mm, ovate to ovate-oblong . Capsule 9-10 mm . Fl. 6-7. In coniferous forests , Quercus woods, rocky slopes , rarely screes, 800-1700 m.
