Hirsute or villous annual, often ± glandular. Stems relatively stout, shortly branched. Leaves ovate with hastate or sagittate base, sometimes ± dentate as well, obtuse or often mucronate. Pedicels pilose throughout, 5-15 mm in flower, 1-2 x subtending leaf. Calyx lobes lanceolate, acuminate, scarcely marginate, 2,5-3,5 mm in flower, to 5 mm in fruit but not hiding capsule. Corolla 5-6 mm, yellow with dark violet upper lip; spur 5-6 mm, straight or ± curved. Capsule c. 3 mm, thin-walled. Seeds c. 1 mm, rugulose-alveolate. Fl. 6-8. Weed of crops and fallow fields, waste places, coastal shingle, s.I.-1600 m.
