Differs from V. trichadena by leaves and lower bracts often slightly more deeply incised and especially by upper bracts considerably smaller than lower, long-petiolate, lamina subtriangular with long cuneate base, 3-lobed or deeply 3-fid or subentire-spathulate; pedicels 20-30 mm in fruit, patent, curved or hooked at apex; calyx lobes ovate to linear-oblong; corolla white with yellow centre, 12-16 mm diam.; style 2,8-3,5 mm; seeds almost smooth, orifice contracted. 2n= 18. Fl. 3-7. Cedrus forests, limestone rocks and scree, s.l-1800 m.
