Laxly pulvinate shrublet; bases of previous leaves persistent, circinnate, borne on long branches. Leaves green to glaucous-green, linear-triquetrous, 20-35 x 0.8-1 mm, margins ciliolate to scabridulous. Scapes exceeding leaves, 2-spiked; spikes densely distichous. Spikelets 6-10, 12-17 mm. Bracts ± subequal, puberulous to glabrous; outer bract triangular-Ianceolate, 6-10 mm, nearly exceeding calyx tube, acuminate, cuspidate; inner bracts narrowly oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, acuminate, with broad hyaline margins or hyaline throughout except for veins, cuspidate. Calyx tube sparsely pilose, limb white or purplish, 10-lobed, veins reaching margin or sometimes excurrent. Petals bright pink. Fl. 6-8. Igneous rocks, limestone slopes, 1210-3535 m,
