Perennial with a very stout, woody, rootstock. Stems numerous, ascending. All leaves very narrowly elliptic to linear-lanceolate. Inflorescences all terminal. Bracts exceeding pedicels. Upper sepals not gibbous. Inner sepals broadly elliptic to almost orbicular, apiculate, bright to pale pink, with anastomosing veins, ± equalling the corolla. Capsule broadly obcordate, 9-11 x 7-9 mm. Fl. 5-7. Hills, 250-1850 m.
