Glabrous tufted herb, stems up to 20 cm. Leaves almost all basal, long-petiolate, reniform to triangular-cordate, somewhat fleshy. Pedicels jointed at about the middle, distally thickened. Perianth segments greenish, the outer pair spreading in fruit, the inner pair adpressed to the fruit. Fruit reddish, broadly winged, up to 5 mm in diameter. Fl. 7-9. Slopes, screes, 2200-4100 m.
