Densely adpressed-pilose annual, 5-25 cm, with a subterranean hypocotyl as in R. arvensis. Stem 1-few-flowered. Lower leaves divided into 3 crenate lobes; upper stem leaves tripartite into oblong, entire, bifid or trifid segments. Sepals adpressed. Petals 5-6 mm. Carpels 6-10, in a single series and equal in number to the stamens. Achenes very large, shortly sericeous, disc tuberculate, elliptical, c. 6 mm;beak lanceolate, circinate above, c. 1 cm. Fl. 5. Rocky limestone slopes, 1280-1600 m.
