Low ascending shrub. Young shoots and winter bud scales pubescent. Leaves elliptic or obovate, subentire, ± pilose on both sides, 4,5-8 x 2,5-3,5 cm, rounded or subcuneate at base, veins 6-12 on each side; petiole 8-12 mm. Sepals pilose, persistent in fruit. Fruit glabrous, black. Fl. 6-8 . Mountains, c. 2000 m.
