Shrub 1-3 m, branches alternate, young spines glabrous or puberulous, brown. Leaf lamina linear-oblanceolate, 20-30 x 4-6 mm, remotely crenate-serrulate or rarely subentire, puberulous or glabrous on both sides, attenuated into a short petiole. Fruiting pedicels c. 5 mm. Disc glabrous. Fruit 4-5 mm diam.; seed with a bifid groove. Fl. 5. Rocky slopes, 450-1600 m.
Transcaucasia, N., N.W. & W. Iran. Distinguished from all other Turkish species by its long narrow leaves.
