Much-branched spinose shrub or small tree; young shoots glabrous. Leaves linear-oblong to lanceolate, 3-4.5 x 0.6-0.9 cm, crenate-serrate, glabrous or with a few hairs beneath; petioles up to 10 mm. Flowers white or pink, c. 2.5 cm diam., sessile or with short pedicels. Drupe ovate to narrowly ovate, compressed, up to 25 x 15 mm, grey-velutinous; stone keeled, with or without indistinct longitudinal grooves on either side of keel, pitted, sometimes shortly grooved towards the base. Fl. 3-5. Rocky limestone slopes, 50-1100 m.
