Low semi-shrub, 20-40 cm, with branched rootstock. Stems numerous, erect to diffuse, quadrangular, virgate, often branched from near base, glabrous . Leaves 6-16 x 1.2-2.5 mm, linear-oblong to oblong-elliptic, acute to subobtuse, margins flat, 1-veined to obsoletely 3-veined in lower 1/3, sparingly hairy on vein above and towards base. Inflorescence lax, with corymbiform partial inflorescences consisting of long-stalked , dichasially arranged, condensed, ±capitate 4-8-flowered cymes; pedicels 0-1.2 mm, Bracts reduced, 1.5-3.5 mm, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate. Corolla white, 2-3.5 mm, trumpet-shaped, with tube to twice as long as somewhat spreading, ovate, obtuse lobes, fragrant. Stamens exserted; anthers yellow, c. 0.5 mm, oblong-elliptic. Style exserted but not exceeding corolla lobes. Mericarps subglobose, 2-2.5 mm diam., slightly granulate, glabrous. Fl. 6-8. Rocky hills, 500-1960 m.
