Stem rigid, somewhat woody to suffruticose, 18-40 cm, glabrous, densely foliose. Leaves bi- or subtripinnatisect, ultimate segments narrowly oblonglanceolate or obovate. Inflorescence lax, pedicels equalling or exceeding the capsules; branches and pedicels glabrous, rarely a few minute glands above. Bracts glabrous, very broad, the lowest cordate-ovate, much wider than the subtended branch. Sepals glabrous, deltoid-ovate. Petals oblong, fringed with long cilia. Capsule glabrous, each segment acuminate-pointed. Fl. 5-6. Rocky limestone slopes and fields, s.l.-300 m.
