Perennial, often suffrutescent. Stems many, simple, 2-10 cm, decumbent to ascending. Leaves 5-10 mm, linear-oblong, margins scabrescent, often secund. Inflorescence a compact, capitate raceme, rarely elongating, 1-2 cm, Bracts equalling or slightly shorter than flowers, bracteoles 1/2-1/3 x as long as bracts. Flowers ±sessile, perianth pale yellowish-green, tubular, 4.5-5 mm, lobes 1-1.5 mm, oblong-ovate. Fruit 6-6.5 x 1.5-2 mm; nut ovoid, glabrous, reticulate-nerved, equalling or slightly exceeding persistent perianth, with 5 white protuberances at base of tube. Fl. 6-8. Mountain ridges and slopes, 1670-3140 m.
