Perennial herb, totally scabrescent. Stems many, ±simple, 5-15 cm, procumbent. Leaves linear to linear-oblong, ± fleshy, 7-40 mm, ± secund. Inflorescence raceme-like, 1.25-4 x as long as flowers, bracteoles shorter than flowers. Flowers white inside, pale green outside; perianth 3.25-4 mm, tubular, lobes narrowly oblong-ovate, 1.5-2 mm, Fruit 5.75 x 2.5-2.75 mm, nut ovoid, scabrescent, reticulate nerved, slightly longer than persistent perianth. Fl. 5-6. Salt steppe, roadsides and arable fields.
